Idiot Mirror, eh?
Posted by emblica on March 21, 2006
Mirror, mirror on the wall. Who is the fairest of them all?
Our plain old mirrors are going techie now.
From Mirror TV to bluetooth mirror, they have lots more to offer and do.
Somebody may ask you… What’s the best place to put your TV without taking too much space?
How about right inside a mirror? That’s the Seura TV mirror for you. When the TV’s off, all you see is a plain old mirror. Put it on and an LCD screen seemingly materializes out of nowhere. You can hook it to your cable or satellite TV or even an antenna. If you want then you can also attach DVD players and other sound systems. How’s that for a singing mirror?
The price ranges between $3000 and $15000 (about 1.4 lakh to Rs 7 lakh)…. Out of reach for General ppl
Royal Philips Electronics have introduced the Mirror TV, versatile 17-, 23- or 30-inch LCD display integrated into a mirror. The Mirror TV uses a unique polarized mirror technology, which transfers close to 100 percent of the light through the reflective surface. It is the first product created at the Philips HomeLab, the company’s research incubator for future electronic products and technologies, to reach the commercial market. The Mirror TV, which was demonstrated for the media in New York and Europe recently, is ideal for non-traditional viewing spaces. The television isn’t very deep – so it can be installed on a wall so that it looks like a framed mirror.
Climatic Mirror, From Oregon Scientific, this Mirror Weather Station for just $130, tells you the outside temperature. The mirror displays 12 -24 hour weather forecasts, has a self-setting atomic clock, and strangely enough, also includes a vibration sensor for the wake-up alarm function.
We also have a Bluetooth mirror car kit that hides in your rear view mirror. The rearview mirror, which is larger than most car mirrors, bolts on to your existing mirror offering you information such as caller ID without the worry of taking your eyes off the road for too long. The mirror also has a built in speaker and microphone and features echo cancellation, pairing for up to three Bluetooth-enabled devices and supports both headset and handsfree profiles. The company, Qool, is even promising 200 hours of standby time and 10 hours talk time between recharges.
So……. how was this magical world of mirrors??

Beware!! Voice Spam’s coming to irritate you…
Posted by emblica on March 6, 2006
Now, Get ready to face sm new kinds of attack this year coz of the popularity of Skype and VoIP… With the wide use of VoIP applications, it’s quite possibe that there will be a rise in voice spams… And that’s all because VoIP services lack strong encryption and they can become an easy target of scammers!
Just as the web users can be plagued by pop-up advertisements and spam emails, it is quite expected that VoIP services will be the next target… Users may find calls redirected or hijacked by the ads!!!
So, do whatever you can, to nip the problem in its early stages…
All the best!!
